Why it’s important to find your life purpose.
Having a sense of meaning in life can be important to your health and your mental well-being. Having meaningful, long-term goals helps boost your health, providing longevity, resilience and general well-being.
Sometimes we have to search for it and this can require courage, inspiration and determination however, it’s comforting when we can find ourselves doing what we love and is meaningful to us.
If you are struggling to discover your purpose, here are some ways to help you find your path.
- Identify the things you care about – What do you enjoy, that you also do well? What are you passionate about? What is it about your community that you care about?
- Reflect on what matters – What are the things you value most? Who are your role models? Of what are you most proud?
- Recognise your strengths and talents – What do you do especially well? What do others say you’re good at? What motivates you?
- Cultivate an attitude of gratitude – Appreciate everything. Express gratitude every day. Recognise and enjoy life’s small pleasures.
